I began my journey into yoga and the healing arts while in Graduate School in 1993. Yoga was a great way to deal with the stress of my MFA program and complimented my study of Alexander Technique. The practice grounded me as a singer and an actress while struggling with body issues and the constant criticism of the artistic world.

In 1997 I moved to Los Angeles and in a few months was introduced to my first Kundalini Yoga class. While the practice was COMPLETELY foreign to my previous yoga experience, I loved the flowing movement with breath, the beautiful positive affirmations and the profound sense of peace and well being that accompanied the practice. When I moved back home to Pittsburgh with a broken heart and a lost soul, it was Kundalini yoga that helped to heal me and opened my heart to my soul’s journey as a healer.

In 2005, at the urging of some friends, I began to teach yoga~ both Kundalini and Vinyasa Flow. Soon I began to develop my own style of teaching, which is a fusion of Kundalini and Vinyasa called Chakra Flow. Within a few years I was teaching several weekly classes at Schoolhouse Yoga Studio and BYS Yoga Studio in the Pittsburgh area. I was also traveling to several regional yoga studios offering Chakra Flow workshops. An activity that was an integral part of my own healing process was soon becoming a successful career path. In 2008 I received my 200 hour yoga teaching certification through 3rd Street Yoga with Joanne VandenHengel.

I now teach several weekly yoga classes and special monthly workshops at Schoolhouse Yoga Studio. I occasionally travel to regional yoga studios for special events and I am on the faculty of Schoolhouse Yoga’s teacher training program
